All of the above images are based upon photographs that I have taken.
Over the years, I've developed a process that uses photographs as the basis for oil painting. It's fun and with the rise of digital technology and printing, I can work on any size canvas and make great oil paintings with my own photographs or if you have a photo you love and want as an oil painting, I can have it made into a gallery wrapped canvas of any size for you.
For example, here is a photo I took of midtown Manhattan with my Iphone as I was running to catch a train at Grand Central Station.
and then below is the impressionistic oil painting I made based upon the original photo. My goal was to try to capture the energy and emotion of New York city during rush hour.
Enjoy and contact me if you'd like to discuss this process further.
